A heavy-duty straight pipe wrench is a type of pipe wrench that combines the features of heavy-duty construction with a straight handle design. This type of wrench is specifically designed to withstand demanding tasks and tough working conditions while providing a straight handle for optimal leverage and torque application. The “heavy duty” designation indicates that the wrench is built with rugged materials and construction, capable of enduring high levels of stress and strain without breaking or deforming. Usually, the handle is made of ductile iron and hardened, while the griping jaws are made of high-strength Cr-Mo alloy steel. These wrenches are often used in industrial, construction, and commercial settings where standard wrenches might not be durable enough to handle the workload.
The “straight” handle design of the wrench means that the handle is perpendicular to the jaw opening of the pipe wrench and it is aligned in a straight line with the sliding direction of the hook jaw. This design allows for a more direct application of force along the axis of the pipe or fitting, making it easier to tighten or loosen connections effectively. Straight pipe wrenches are commonly used in situations where there is ample space to maneuver the tool and where a straight handle provides better leverage. The heavy-duty straight pipe wrench supplied by SJZ Metalsin is a robust and durable tool with a straight handle design, suitable for heavy-duty tasks in various industries and municipal projects where strength and reliability are essential.
As illustrated in the drawing, the heavy duty straight pipe wrench consists of (1) hook jaw, (2) heel jaw & pin, (3) flat spring, (4) cylinder spring, (5) adjustment nut, (6) handle & housing body. Both the hook jaw and heel jaw usually are made from forged alloy steel. The housing handle usually is made of cast iron, while the adjustment nut is made of hardened steel.
