Design Features

Metalsin supplies EN 593 wafer type butterfly valves for waterworks engineering. These valves have the following design features:

• • Designed to EN 593: It is the European standard that specifies the requirements for metallic butterfly valves for general purposes.
  • Wafer type body: Also known as flangeless body, it is a flat body that has a minimal face-to-face, which is usually equal to twice the required wall thickness plus the width of the valve packing box. The narrow face-to-face length allows the body to be installed between two pipe flanges using a through-bolt connection.

  • Concentric design: The disc is concentric with both the valve body and the shaft (stem), providing a simple, balanced structure.
  • Rubber Seated: The valve body is internally lined with natural rubber or synthetic rubber such as EPDM or NBR.
  • Single shaft & pinned disc: The disc is pinned onto the one-through shaft, which is easy to assemble.
  • Handle or gearbox operated, cast iron or ductile iron valve body.
