At Metalsin, we specialize in supplying high-quality ductile iron valves designed for waterworks applications, engineered to meet the rigorous demands of modern water distribution systems. Our valves, including their critical components such as valve bodies and valve bonnets, are meticulously manufactured in compliance with the European standard EN 1563 for spheroidal graphite cast iron. Ductile iron, also known as spheroidal graphite ductile iron or nodular cast iron, is a premium material renowned for its exceptional strength, durability, and versatility.
Ductile iron derives the name from its unique metallurgical structure: graphite within the iron matrix forms spherical nodules (rather than flakes as in gray iron), achieved through a controlled magnesium treatment during production. This nodular graphite structure eliminates stress concentrations, endowing the material with outstanding mechanical properties—such as high tensile strength, superior ductility, and excellent impact resistance. Combined with inherent corrosion resistance, these characteristics make ductile iron ideal for waterworks valves, ensuring long-term reliability under fluctuating pressures, mechanical stresses, and harsh environmental conditions.
A wide range of ductile iron valves for waterworks: gate valves, butterfly valves, check valves, strainers, and control valves, etc.
Metalsin‘s ductile iron valves for waterworks encompass a comprehensive range of types, each tailored to specific operational demands and compliant with leading European standards. Our gate valves (EN 1074-2, BS 5163, EN 1171) offer tight shutoff with minimal pressure loss, making them ideal for isolation in water distribution systems. Butterfly valves (EN 593) provide efficient flow control and space-saving installation, commonly used in reservoirs and treatment plants. Check valves (EN 1074-3, BS 5153) prevent backflow, protecting pumps and pipelines from potential damage. Air release valves (EN 1074-4) eliminate trapped air, improving pipeline efficiency and preventing pressure surges. Globe valves (EN 13709) allow precise flow regulation, making them suitable for throttling applications in treatment plants and pumping stations. We also supply fire hydrants (EN 14384, EN 14339) for emergency water supply in firefighting systems. Additionally, our control valves, including pressure-reducing valves, pressure relief & sustaining valves, surge anticipating valves, remote floating valves, and pressure differential valves (EN 1074-5), regulate system pressure and flow, ensuring the stable and efficient operation of water distribution networks. Each of these valves is engineered to withstand demanding conditions, contributing to the safety and longevity of modern waterworks infrastructure.

At Metalsin, the ductile iron used in our waterworks valves complies with the EN 1563 standard, ensuring superior performance across four key material grades: EN-GJS-400-15, EN-GJS-400-18, EN-GJS-450-10, and EN-GJS-500-7. Each grade is optimized for specific mechanical demands:
By leveraging these EN 1563-certified grades, Metalsin ensures that every valve component meets stringent requirements for durability, leak-proof operation, and longevity in diverse water infrastructure environments.
