At Metalsin, we supply EN 12334 ductile iron swing check valves (soft seated & metal seated) for waterworks industry. A swing check valve is an automatic valve that allows fluid to flow in one direction while preventing backflow. Its primary components include:
In operation, when fluid flows in the intended direction, the pressure forces the disc to swing open, allowing flow through the valve. If the flow reverses, the disc swings back onto the seat, effectively sealing the valve and preventing backflow. This design is commonly used in water and wastewater applications due to its simplicity and effectiveness.

Ductile iron swing check valves designed & manufactured in accordance with EN 12334 are essential components in waterworks systems, effectively preventing backflow and ensuring unidirectional water flow. In water treatment plants, they safeguard the integrity of the treatment process by preventing treated water from flowing back into the raw water supply. In pumping stations, these valves protect pumps from reverse flow, which can cause damage and reduce efficiency, thereby maintaining optimal pump performance. Within distribution networks, swing check valves are installed at strategic points to prevent backflow into the water supply, safeguarding the system from contamination and ensuring consistent water quality. Their robust construction and reliable performance make them particularly suitable for various water distribution applications.
