AWWA C504 Flanged Concentric Butterfly Valves

It features a design where the valve stem axis is perfectly aligned with the centerline of both the butterfly disc and the valve body. This concentric alignment ensures that the disc remains in constant contact with the soft sealing seat (typically made of materials like rubber or PTFE) throughout the valve’s operation. This simple and symmetrical design provides excellent sealing performance for low-pressure and normal-temperature applications, such as water supply and drainage system However, due to continuous contact between the disc and seat, it experiences higher friction during operation, making it less suitable for high-pressure, high-temperature, or abrasive media conditions. Its structure is straightforward, cost-effective, and best suited for light- and medium-duty service.
