At Metalsin, we supply the DIN 3352 F4 ductile iron flanged gate valves for waterworks applications. These valves have the following design features:

  • DIN 3352: It is a German standard established by the Deutsches Institut für Normung (DIN) that specifies the design, dimensions, materials, and performance requirements for resilient seated (wedge) gate valves. These valves are engineered to ensure tight sealing and reliable shut-off in various applications such as water supply and sewage treatment systems.
  • DIN 3202 F4: The face-to-face dimensions of these DIN 3352 flanged gate valves shall be furnished in accordance with series F4 of DIN 3202 Part 1, which is equivalent to Series 14 of EN 558-1, applicable to both PN 10 and PN 16.
  • Resilient Seated: The ductile iron gate of valve is fully encapsulated by EPDM or NBR rubber, which is then firmly bonded to the gate through a vulcanization process, forming a resilient seat. When the valve closes, the resilient seat deforms to closely match the seating surface on the valve body, compensating for any minor surface imperfections to create a secure, leak-proof seal.
  • OS&Y Rising Stem: It is a design where the stem, which is connected to the gate, extends externally from the valve body—this is what “OS&Y” (Outside Screw and Yoke) denotes. When the valve is operated, the handwheel turns the external stem, causing it to rise or lower, which in turn lifts or seats the gate to open or close the flow passage. This visible stem movement not only provides an immediate visual indication of the valve’s position but also facilitates easier maintenance and lubrication since the operating components are readily accessible, making it especially suitable for critical applications like fire protection and water distribution systems.
  • Double-Flanged Ends: The dimensions of end flanges cast integrally with the valve body shall be furnished in accordance with DIN 2501 & EN 1092-2 PN 10 & PN 16.

Generally, DIN 3352 F4 resilient seated gate valves with rising stem are available in sizes 1.5″ (DN 40) to 24″ (DN 600). Both exterior and interior surfaces of the valve should be FBE coated in RAL 5005 or 5015 color for water supply applications. The working temperature range is 0°C~90°C.
