At Metalsin, we supply resilient seated swing check valves made to EN 12334 for waterworks applications. Resilient seated swing check valves are engineered to prevent backflow in piping systems, ensuring unidirectional fluid flow. Unlike metal-seated swing check valves, which rely on metal-to-metal contact for sealing, resilient seated valves utilize elastomeric materials to achieve a tight seal.
Typical photo and drawing of EN 12334 resilient seated swing check valve, double flanged.
The disc of the swing check valve is typically made of ductile iron and fully encapsulated & vulcanized by EPDM rubber, creating a resilient seal that effectively prevents backflow. These valves consist of only one moving component—the disc—minimizing maintenance requirements and reducing the risk of component wear. The use of ductile iron for the body and bonnet, combined with elastomeric seating, results in a lighter and more compact valve design. Resilient seated swing check valves are designed to seal drop-tight at pressures above 5 psig, ensuring zero leakage under normal operating conditions.
