Ductile iron grooved Y strainers supplied by Metalsin for fire protection (red coating) and waterworks (blue coating), respectively.
Ductile iron Y strainers with grooved ends deliver a robust and flexible solution for fire protection and waterworks piping systems by using precisely machined grooves that meet AWWA C606 and ISO 6182 standards, enabling swift and secure coupling with industry-standard fittings. Grooved end connections provide a faster, more reliable alternative to flanged connections by eliminating the need for heavy bolting and gasket alignment, making them more suitable for piping connections of 8″ or smaller. This design not only produces leak-proof, durable joints that reduce installation time and maintenance challenges but also safeguards downstream equipment in high-performance applications like fire protection. Ultimately, the combination of rapid installation, reliable sealing, and enhanced durability helps maintain system integrity, minimize downtime, and lower overall lifecycle costs.
